1Too Hard to Play!Feb 01, 2010
The premise of the game is easy to understand, but it's almost impossible to make the ants 'hop!' Not only was my preschooler very frustrated (and eventually mad/upset), I couldn't really get it to work for me either! There is no real educational value to the toy either (that I can see), so I would save your money and go for another buy.

4Had it for over a year and my family still loves itJan 04, 2010
I bought this last year for my 5 year old son. He loved it then and still does now at 6. He is better at it than I am but I can manage to get the ants in. If you push too hard on the plastic ants they can get a little bent out of shape and not work as well. Just pinch them so they aren't as flattened down and they work fine. He loves that it's a game that he is better at than I am. Just to put it into perspective..we got a wii this year- but he will put down the wii to come play a game with me. He enjoys having an adult play with him and it's a great way to get laughter started. I would advise waiting until they are old enough to play- 4-5. Kids younger might not have enough dexterity.

5Ditch the video games! This is an inexpensive way to have fun...Dec 18, 2009
I had this game as a child & always loved playing it, often playing by myself using a timer & trying to beat my best time. Living out in the middle of nowhere, there wasn't a lot to do, and being the youngest of five children, I didn't have many kids my age to play with anyways. My mom often played games with me though, because she was stuck in the boonies, too! You learn to have fun doing the simplest of things, and this game is one of those things. Although, my recollection is that the old game only had the suspenders, not the cardboard 'backboard'. I'm guessing that was probably added by the makers to avoid eye injuries, etc. when the ants go flying. My recollection may be wrong, though. The price on Amazon seems a high. I just bought it Toys R Us for $[...], on sale. It think the regular price was only $[...]. I'm hoping we'll have fun playing it at Christmas when younger kids are visiting, because it'll be a while before I can play it with my 3 month old grandson! I think I'll go back to Toys R Us and get "Don't spill the beans". That was another one of my favorites, again, sometimes playing it alone! Bottom line is Ants in the Pants is an inexpensive way to have fun. It's not very educational, unless you consider the part of teaching the child patience, because it takes a bit to get the hang of it. And it does teach hand/eye coordination, I guess. You can't go wrong with this small investment. I definitely recommend this game.

3boringNov 11, 2009
I rated this game for my 4.5 years old son. He feels this is a very boring game except that he finds it not difficult to jump the ants to the pant. We bought this game, he played it once, then it is put aside.

5FUN for all!!Sep 02, 2009
This is a fun family game & fun for the little ones to be able to play along w/too =)!!
