4Add weight and add some funNov 17, 2001

I agree with the previous reviews. When you first play with the toy, it's boring because it tips after 10 or less beans are used. However, this problem is easy to solve. Before placing the tray on the pot, place some coins in the bottom of the pot. The weighted pot allow the child to place more beans on top. Once we weighted the pot, our three boys had a lot more fun with the game. Now, they get excited as they watch the beans pile up, and when the pot spills it's much more fun to see a large amount of beans topple over than just 10 or less. My three older boys (ages 2-5) really enjoy playing with the game now. In addition, it's a game that they can play without help from an adult which is nice. For the price, it's definitely worth the investment.

3Could be better...Aug 08, 2000

Unfortunately it takes very few beans before you "spill the beans". Each player gets about 25 - 30 beans to start the game, but every game my son (3 years old) and I play, we end up spilling over at about 10 beans total. So the game doesn't last long, which takes most of the fun away. And my son is not learning much about balancing things. Even when I've tried to play alone (and I am knowledgable as to how to balance the pot), I still can't get many beans on before it spills.

1You get what you pay forNov 06, 2000

We really, really do not like this game. It is boring and doesn't work very well. The beans slide off the top with very little tilt and once it does tilt, it stays there. The only redeeming quality is that you can use it for counting. ...

4FUn with a 2 1/2 year oldNov 26, 2004

My son loves this game and asks to play it every day. It is great because we practice counting and taking count. The pot is light and does tip over pretty easily but it is fun to just start over and practice more counting.

4Can't get enough of this game.Oct 06, 2004

I remember this game from when I was a child. I recently bought this game for my son who just turned four. He absolutely loves it and wants to play it all the time. It does get a little boring after a while for an adult because you have to keep going until someone runs out of beans. Also, I read the other reviews and our game doesn't have a problem tipping over with just a couple of beans. I hope everyone else enjoys this game as much as my son.
