Not an essential toyJan 16, 2009

For $23 it's a little overpriced. It's not a toy that your kid is going to play with for hours. But it's a decent addition to a larger adventure-type play set. Actually, the Diego figure, jeep, and 3 dinosaurs will get more use than the play set. Not a bad gift but I wouldn't rush out to get it for my kid.

My four year old loves dinosaurs and Diego. When he saw this he HAD to have it and I thought it sounded good too. He has fun with it for a limited time but gets very frustrated. The parts can come off too easily when he moves the playset and it is hard for him to get them on just right. When it's stable he loves the rock roll and having Diego climb the rock but really there is not much you can do with it; he wants the huge set now but we will save our money. Bottom line...the dinosaur rock sits on the shelf while Diego and all the dinosaurs climb furniture, Lego mountains and adventure without it. I will think twice about playsets in the future.

I bought this for my son at a local store today - he played with it for about 3 minutes. He got frustrated that the ladder kept falling apart, the head won't stay attached, and if he tries to move it, it collapses. If it weren't for the fact that he loves the little Diego and dinosaur it came with I'd just return the pile of junk to the store and get my $[...] back. Luckily I got it on clearance!
