Not made like it used to be madeApr 11, 2009

I recall having a Fisher Price school house. And, it was sooo much nicer than this one. This is like one of those older tin lunch boxes we used in the 70's. I wish the quality of product was there, but sad to say it's not. I'd love to be able to buy a 70's version of the school house, or all the little people for that matter.
Shop at garage sales instead to find the classic version instead.

This toy is great! The child that uses it just turned one and he loves it..his Mom is a teacher so it was a perfect gift for him..she was thrilled with it also.. he puts the people in and out of the school and the desks..and loves to carry it around..

Lacks the "house" features that we all loved as kidsDec 27, 2009
By KARI The Little People -- a nice size, satisfying to hold, and fun to play with. Nicely put together, and more interesting to look at and play with than the "modern" Little People, which are just one piece of injection-molded plastic (or some such thing). One complaint, however, is that the Dog is a little bit too big and doesn't fit as easily into the merry-go-round or chairs.
The chair, desk, and merry-go-round -- cute, sturdy, and simple.
The schoolhouse (box) -- This is the major flaw of this set. The big draw of the Fisher Price sets that a lot of us played with as kids was that you could place the figures in the house/barn/etc. and really be drawn into the imaginary world of these little people. You could open and close the door, look into the windows, and so on. Probably as a cost-saving measure, this school set is designed so that the schoolhouse is a hinged box that doesn't have any real doors or windows, or any details inside the schoolhouse such as a blackboard.
Fisher Price really missed the boat here. I personally wouldn't have bought this toy; it was given as a gift to my 1-year-old. Unfortunately, I don't think he will be drawn to it as much as he would be to a better version of this set.

Fisher Price Play 'n Go SchoolMay 12, 2009
By Diane L. Lethbridge Fisher Price toys have been our choice for 40 years! Our four children and 12 grandchildren enjoy them very much! This toy is such a happy memory of the history of Fisher Price! Our two year old granddaughter knew just what to do with every piece. I highly recommend this product for durability, appeal, and craftmanship! Fisher Price is the first place I look to buy my toys!

Not that 70's Toy, Still RocksSep 02, 2010

Sorry- I'm always openin' my big mouth- but it seems to me that everyone is focusing too much on how "uncool" this toy is now as opposed to the way it was in the 70's. Yeah, I do wish that this set came with more accessories and had more detail, but life goes on. It's pretty obvious that the dimensions of the "Little People" were increased due to possible choking incidents/potential choking hazards, so I cannot complain. These sets are basic and durable enough to last until your kid has a kid that proclaims how cool "retro" Little People sets were in the late 2000's.
