drag racer setSep 17, 2009

This is a fun toy for the boys in my house. It was a real bargain. They are a very good size for little hands and the sounds are pretty realistic.

Very disappointedDec 27, 2008

We were very disappointed in the dragsters. They would hardly move on the carpet and just move at little more than a snails pace on the smoother floor. The tires have no traction which would be right for actual dragsters but on this toy it doesnt work. We even tried adding rubber bands to the tires to help them get traction..then they would not move at all. We expected them to be faster, they are dragsters not soap box racers trying to go up hill. My boys played with them for a few minutes and then moved on. We are returning them. We can get a toy that is much better for this price.

Fun in a big spaceJan 07, 2009
By Julie C. Lich This was a hit for our four year old and two year old. Very easy to use and compact to store (it all stores together). Only down fall is if you don't have an open space and carpet you don't get the full race effect. Crash and burn on wood floors.

Doesn't WorkSep 08, 2010
By D. Kirchmeier My brother bought these for my son's 1st birthday. He's 3.5 now and we have never been able to get them to work properly. Sometimes the motor revs after a good shake but will very rarely launch from the starting line. I've used new batteries and it doesn't seem to make a difference. If they worked i would rate them much higher. The speed of the dragsters was never a concern for us, its a small kids toy.

Didn't work out of the box.Dec 28, 2009
By D. MCKICHAN Have had a regular "shake and go" track with 3 cars for about 2 years. Those things are built like tanks and still work after taking years of use and abuse. 5 year old still plays with the track so I figured he would get a kick out of these as I found them on clearance for a good price. Although he was thrilled to get them for xmas he won't be to happy to find out I had to take them back as I couldn't get one of the two cars to work.
That issue aside, they just don't seem physically built to the same standards as the regular shake and go cars. The one car I got to work was just so/so. On Berber it just spun out. On a rubebr surface it did get going pretty good. The front wheels seemed like they would likely not hold up to a lot of abuse. The launcher itself is pretty basic. If you are going to drop this much money on shake and go stuff, get a regualr track and cars.
Hate to give a one star review, but if you are a toy and fail to work on xmas for a 5 year old, one star it is.
