Yeah for Trash Trucks!Jul 06, 2010
This was our first "big boy" lego set and my son is only three but loves trash trucks. Of course he needed help building it and his attention span didn't quite last the duration of the building project. Even when he's careful with it there are a few sections that continuously fall off, so there is a lot of maintenance involved. Still a great lego set though and I'm sure he'll enjoy it for a few more years!

I purchased the Lego City Garbage Trust-7991 and the Lego Technic Mini Tractor for my 5 year old nephew for Christmas and was pleasantly surprised at how much he enjoyed them. He played with these two toys all afternoon. Solves my problem of what to get him for birthdays and Christmas since there are so many different kits. This was one of my first purchases from Amazon, but it won't be my last. Was very pleased by the short length of time it took to receive them.
Lego Garbage/Recycle TruckFeb 07, 2010
Good instructions, was built together w/my 5 year old. He plays with it often and likes shoveling the bits and putting them in the can and dumping into the truck. Only complaint is a very weak spot in the legos where the back end lifts up, constantly breaks off and was frustrating. Bought superglue for that specific area where the henge and the backend lifts. Overall, nice lego kit w/opportunity to talk about recycling and litter.

Can't go wrong with Legos. I especially like this set because it's a little different than your typical Lego set (airplane, truck, ship, etc.).
Even comes with a little trash can!
LEGO Garbage TruckNov 02, 2009
My 5 year old son received this LEGO set for his birthday. He is a garbage truck fanatic and was totally excited about putting this together and playing with it! The age range is 5-12 years old so I figured he would be able to put his truck together. He couldn't even begin to do this by himself and he is a really smart kid! I ended up putting the truck together with his help. He really likes the truck and it is really cool the way the rear portion lifts up, but unfortunately it breaks apart with the slightest bit of pressure. That being said.... it is a cool truck and LEGOs are wonderful toys that work on a child's fine motor skills. I would say that the age range should be changed to 8-12 years.
