Another winning set from Play Doh!Aug 31, 2008
By Z Hayes Play Doh's Magic Swirl Ice Cream Shoppe is such a delight and my 3.5 year old daughter has had many happy hours of fun with it. The set comes with 4 cans of play-doh in brown, pink, green, and white sprinkle doh. There are over 40 molds to create tiny confections of delight. It also comes with two plastic cones for making 'ice cream', two sundae plastic containers, a plastic "cake" that can be decorated, three spoons, etc.
The attachments to create swirls of 'ice cream', 'toppings' squeezer, and 'sprinkles' cranker are all easy to fit. My little one was able to manipulate the attachments with some effort but she could do so independently.
This is definitely one of my daughter's favorites of the Play Doh sets that we have and it has been keeping her occupied in creating various confections and 'iced' delights:) Final verdict: a fun and value Play Doh set that will encourage little ones to create and play make-believe!

Fun but very annoying!Dec 28, 2008

"Mom of a rascaly bunch of girls"
My 4 year old daughter loved this toy, it kept her very entertained when we first got it. However, it was only entertaining if I was playing with her (mostly doing it all) because she could not actually manage to push the big handle down or use the sprinkle or topping maker. I myself found the sprinkle maker annoying and hard to use. After a week or so I was very sick of playing with it and let her lose on it on her own and decided to see what she could actually do on her own... all she could accomplish was cramming playdoh into all the spots and getting it stuck and left to dry. In the end she ended up just using the little molds on the sides. This thing is now listed on my eBay for sale for $0.99 just so I can try to make a little back.
All in all I would say buy this big tub of playdoh stuff they sell at toys r us for like $20 and it comes with a ton of playdo and cutters and molds... so much better than this contraption!

Great toy after I figured out how to clean the SprinklerNov 16, 2010
By Blueflower 3yr old and 6 yr old like playing with this. Keeps them busy for a while.
The sprinkler maker was a bit of a pain because its hard to clean. BUT I figured it out!
I actually unscewed it (there is a small screw at the bottom of it) and now it works like a sprinkler PLUS I can clean it.
Also to put the orange top on I figured it out: You have to put the orange top on and twist slightly to keep it in place. Then to take it off, just twist it off. Once you know this part - its not that bad. One more thing - its best to clean up the toy ie take all playdoh off it after kids are done playing so it does not harden up and block the parts where the "ice cream" comes out off.
Hope these comments help.

poor disignJul 13, 2009

My four year old got this toy for her fourth birthday and while she loved it, it only lasted one use. Once you put the toy together it does not come apart and cannot be put back in the box for storage. Also, the "sprinkle maker" doesn't come apart so that you can clean it out. PlayDoh dries inside and that side of the toy is ruined for further use. There is no way to clean it out. I do not recommend this toy.

Too much effortDec 29, 2008
By J. S. Bowen This is maybe a toy for an 8 year old and above or definitely a toy that needs total adult supervision. The handle to push the play doh down is very stiff and much too hard for my 4 yr old. Plus it's big and so storage is an issue.
I wouldn't recommend this, even though I usually love the play doh toys.
