Stored in a barn for authenticity?Aug 17, 2010 This was absolutely filthy when it arrived! Fine dirt and little bits of grass covered the box and the toy itself. I would have sent it back, but my little girl was so excited that I couldn't bear to disappoint her. After about 10 minutes of cleaning it off and wondering what else might be covering it, I handed it over. Turns out it is a bit too difficult for an 18 month old. She likes it, but needs a lot of help getting it to work. Unless I'm there to pull the lever, it is nothing more than a fun thing to slide around the carpet. The older version, while not as theoretically safe, was so much easier! Next time I'll be more patient and try it out in the store first.

Sound doesn't match the picture!Jan 22, 2010 Sure you have to point the arrow FIRST and THEN spin the stupid thing- that is not how is it supposed to work!
Hate it! Returning it!
Good fun for a little one, but loud!Jan 05, 2010 My mom bought this product for my son as a Christmas gift. Hearing the different animal sounds and music always makes him smile, and he loves playing with it. Even though he's too young yet to pull the lever for himself, he will bring it to me when he wants to hear the sounds. I like the "quiz" feature that asks "Can you find the animal that makes [x] sound?" and think it will be a good learning tool when my son is older. But---and this is my only complaint---it is a really LOUD toy. There is no way to adjust the volume and I find myself wanting to cover up the speaker (located on the front of the toy) when my son brings it to me. Given that a lot of young children hold toys that make sounds up to their ears, I think this toy needs to be much quieter.
Great fun for kids, sometimes annoying for parentsDec 13, 2009 Our child loves this toy, especially so the "bonus" farmer doll "Buddy" that comes with it. The actual toy is ok but our child doesn't nearly love it as much as the little farmer doll. As parents, we find the doll more annoying than the see and say toy because the doll is a lot more monotonous than the see and say. The doll can not be washed, so for cleaning purposes keep that in mind. Once it gets really dirty by, say, falling in dirty slush or snow, it pretty much stays dirty. Don't take the doll outside! Educational value is about one or even close to zero, but the entertainment factor is a 4 star value.
